“A Lotus Blooms in Tampa Bay” Exhibition Complete ~

“A LOTUS BLOOMS IN TAMPA BAY,” had it’s last moments on the walls of the Bamboozle Tea Lounge March 12, 2015.  As I gently removed each peace, a tender wave of deep gratitude washed over me.  For an entire month, some of my most cherished paintings and captured moments were activated by a public audience.  I’m honored and moved by the supportive community of friends new and old, local businesses, and the abundance of social media fans who sent their good vibes from as far away as Hawaii! Yesterday’s Tampa Tribune ran a wonderful piece written by Laura Cone about the exhibit and my history.  You can find the March 11, 2015 Tampa Tribune article here.

Many of the pieces featured from the exhibit are still available for purchase.

There is a very long story behind how and why I was able to create this shot from the Penthouse of the Don Cesar in St. Petersburg, FL. The Pink Palace is an old hotel with many spirits…the branches you see in this shot were gathered locally and placed just so in a vase. The sun aligned itself just so… and so I snapped the shot for you. 😉 Thank you and I hope you enjoy! Incidentally, this piece was my first sale at my first Tampa Bay local exhibition, “A Lotus Blooms in Tampa Bay.” Yay!

Indian Rocks Beach provides some of the most gorgeous sunsets I’ve ever seen (and I’ve lived in both California and Hawaii)! This shot is one of a series taken during the summer of 2014, my first summer back in Florida, where I grew up splashing about in these very waters. The clouds in the upper left look a lot like a large dolphin and calf – or maybe a whale-dolphin hybrid if there were such a magnificent creature.

I snapped this photo of Nicholas while on one of my frequent visits to the CMA. Nicholas is the only male dolphin at the CMA (Winter and Hope being the females – and movie stars)! Nick is a delight to be with.  He is also the only dolphin there who has not been featured in  “A Dolphin Tale” or “Dolphin Tale 2” but I think he is just fine with being a behind the scenes kind of guy!
